EDMOND, Oklahoma - An Edmond man attempted to drive away in a police car Wednesday night, according to Edmond police spokesperson Glynda Chu.

Chu said 29-year-old Aaron William Green approached an officer shortly before 2 a.m. outside of an Edmond bar, 1109 Broadway, and said there was suspicious activity around the corner. The officer then got out of his car to check on the corner and Green got in the officer's car and began to drive away.

Edmond police used their AVL (Automatic Vehicle Locator) to track the car, Chu said. Green crashed the vehicle near a Taco Bell restaurant, 33rd St. and Broadway, where he was then apprehended by police.

Green was arrested on complaints of larceny and driving under the influence.
