It's official - I'm on "Twitter"! You may wonder what that has to do with hiring a plumber. Well I asked those who are on twitter (a new social networking site) "what advice do you have when it comes to hiring one?".
First, I'll share my number 1 tip - That's check for a license. Plumbers have to be licensed through the Construction Industries Board. You can call them at 405-271-5217 or 1-877-484-4424.
Or check for the license online by clicking here.
One fellow twitterer agrees with that tip - Lindsay says "as you say, "get everything in writing". oh, and "make sure they are licensed". see, we listen". Thanks Lindsay for that :)
And Mike's advise: "always shop around, and the more you know yourself about the problem, the better."
And here's something different... Holly uses www.angieslist.com. She says "You can see tons of reviews other people have posted. It's a paysite, but only about $15/yr"
I also always advise to check the company out with the Better Business Bureau (it won't always show everything about a company, but if a company has an "F", I'd run the other way!).
As for twitter, I'd love for you to "follow" me and I can do the same. I was a little intimidated to "twitter" at first (I'm not on any other social networking site), but it's been easy. My twitter name is "ConsumerGirl".
