OKLAHOMA CITY -- Grady County Sheriff Art Kell fired a deputy sheriff March 5 after "receiving credible information and evidence the deputy committed a criminal offense while in performance of duty."

A spokeswoman for Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation confirmed the agency is assisting with a theft investigation involving a Grady County deputy, who is David Jacobs, according to Grady County District Attorney Bret Burns.

Jacobs once worked for the Blanchard Police Department.

The sheriff, the OSBI and the District Attorney's office all declined to release any more information on the ongoing case and NEWS 9's attempts to contact former Deputy Jacobs were unsuccessful.

David Jacobs has not been arrested or charged with anything at this time.
