PERRY, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says troopers shot a teen on Interstate 35 near Perry after he led them on a high-speed chase.
The 15-year-old was taken to OU Medical Center where he was listed in good condition.
West says the chase began about 10 a.m. Monday when troopers tried to stop a sport utility vehicle with Missouri tags for a traffic violation about 30 miles north of Perry.
He says the teen sped away southbound and crossed into northbound lanes. A trooper managed to spin out the SUV about two miles north of Perry.
West says that as the troopers approached, the teen pulled a gun and fired and troopers returned fire.
The troopers were not hurt.
His name is not being released because he is a juvenile and because OHP cannot confirm that his parents have been notified.
