As showers move off the mid-Atlantic coast, with an associated low pressure system, sunny to partly cloudy skies are being experienced through the rest of the eastern U.S.
Low pressure is spinning through the south-central Plains and producing showers and a few thunderstorms from the central Plains to the lower Mississippi River Valley.
The rain is changing to snow through the Black Hills region. A few rain and snow showers are falling through the northern Rockies while snow is falling from Wyoming into Colorado.
A weak storm system is producing rain along the northern and central Pacific coast while snow is falling through the Cascades and northern Sierra Nevada.
The Southwest is seeing sunny skies today.
