TATUMS, Oklahoma -- Residents in Tatums in Carter County were evacuated as fires reignited in the area.
SH 7 was closed on the east and west side for about a half hour. Fire crews lost one fire truck and at least 20 homes were in danger.
The Carter County Sheriff's Department had to ask for assistance evacuating residents. Some Tatums residents refused to leave their homes. Troopers have cleared the scene though.
Firefighters across the state have been battling blazes since Thursday. Windy, dry conditions made it difficult to contain many blazes and put out hot spots.
