Admitted personal bias in wishing Thunder would have hired Flip Saunders as its new head coach. But Flip goes to the Wizards and the man who deserves a chance to be head coach-Scott Brooks-gets his chance. Don't let Brooks' size calm persona we see on the sideline and in front of the camera belie the fact that he's a battler. No other way to describe how he survived eleven years as a player and six years coaching in the Association.
..............
I asked Thunder haunchos why they'd hire a coach 8 hours before the end of the season when they'd said they'd wait till the end of the season to do so. Word I get: "Made decision so players had clarity heading into the off-season." Sensible enough to me.

Damion James probably won't be the only Big 12 player in the near future to declare for the NBA draft but not hire an agent. Stay tuned.
..............
How fitting that Isiah Thomas was introduced as "Isiah Thompson" when introduced as the new Florida International coach. A failure in many ways since his playing days ended, Thomas will likely succeed. That will be the perfect example of how a big-name schmoozer will be able to sign a large peach basket number of hot-shot teenagers. Reminds what a former Oklahoma coach once screamed, "You don't coach championships Wendell, you recruit ‘em!"

Gotta love the way the Sergio Garcia "apology" came down. Sergio "apologized" through his management company for dissing Augusta National after his limp Masters '09 performance.
.............
Willie Wood hosting another Shiloh Charity events. Wonderful fella doing a wonderful charity some good. Shiloh helping inner-city kids who were not born with a silver spoon stuck in their mouths. Event transferred to Gaillardia since Oak Tree (National) under construction. Event the morning of April 27. Contact Shiloh if you want to play or have questions.
...........
More on Oak Tree National later. All I can say for now is that there's about to be a course in the area that will blow your doors off. Big tournaments will land here as well.
