Mornay Sauce

Chef Mee from the FireLake Grand Casino came to the NEWS 9 studio to cook up a Mornay sauce.

3 T Flour
3 T Butter

Make into blond Roux
Add
16 oz Milk or Cream

Small Onion Pique
(small onion, with 2 cloves and bay leaf)
2 oz Gruyere Swiss Cheese
Salt & white pepper to taste


Heat milk with Onion Pique (remove pique) and add to Roux slowly, add cheese and season.
