Feed The Children Fires Internal Auditor

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The board of the Oklahoma City-based charity Feed the Children has fired an internal auditor for e-mails that included a racist joke about President Barack Obama.

George Stevens is being fired after four directors voted to dismiss him while one director and Feed the Children founder Larry Jones abstained from voting.

Jones later issued a statement saying he supports the firing of Stevens but feared that voting might violate a judicial "status quo" order.

The move is the latest in turmoil at Feed the Children. A judge is overseeing legal fight for control of the charity.
