Summer is almost here

Hey there....!!!

School is winding down for so many students... WOW .. Where did this school year go by?  I always feel like the school year ends .. and the entertainment committee begins.  You know... now everyday MOM  has to have a plan in place for the kids daily entertaining activity.

This summer is going to be a little different at our household.  I have not communicated this to our 9 year old son yet.. (so please don't ruin the surprise) lol.  But there are going to be a few different things in place that will impact his daily summer social calendar.

Namely having lots more responsibility around the house.. not just those 5 second chores... that can be done in a flash....but some bigger items and will be a little more indepth and take some time.  The Payoff... will be a lesson in learning more responsibility... and how to start managing his money.  There will be an allowance that comes with doing his daily/weekly duties.  So when the phone rings to run swim..go play golf.. go to game stop... etc.. He will have to pony up the money to make it happen.

No one likes to admit they have made a mistake... but I have made the mistake over and over again of just caving in and giving in when ever the urge is there for a new toy.. game.. or basketball.  So this summer will be a continuing education class... just at home.  I hope I am a better Teacher in summer school... than I have during the school year.
