Illegal Immigrants Arrested After Van Runs Off Road

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A routine traffic stop lead to the arrest of 11 illegal immigrants.

Trooper Tom Barton was clearing debris off Interstate 40 near Cimarron Road when a van ran off the road, nearly hitting the cable barriers.

Trooper Barton questioned the driver and found he was smuggling 10 illegal immigrants.

"The other 10 illegals that he's smuggling will all be deported," Trooper Barton said. 

The driver was also an illegal immigrant. He is being held in the Canadian County Jail for driving without a license. ICE, known as Immigration and Customs Enforcement will now handle the case.
