DALLAS-I've been covering conference preseason media meetings for 23 years. Never has Oklahoma State gotten the attention it did today, at the meetings in Dallas.

We just finished interviewing Mike Gundy and QB Zac Robinson one on one. Each was worn slick. I asked them about it and they both shook their heads but obviously loved the deserved attention.

Simply put, on a day when OU and Texas are not here, OSU is the big dog. And the upside the Cowboys have going into this 2009 is higher than it has ever been in school history.

As far as the impression the OSU contingent is leaving, I'd give straight A's to each of the four representing the school: Gundy, Robinson, start OL Russell Okung and OLB Andre Sexton.

No foot in mouth disease-not even close. Okung was convincing when he told me he's basically sick of all the talk and that there's no question but what this is the season that his Cowboys will bust through the OU/Texas wall.

Same with Sexton, but with a bigger confident smile on his face. Robinson was...well, he was what you'd expect. Great looking kid, humble yet confident and not afraid to speak of his Christian faith.

Robinson is up to 220 and told me he has no plans to be looked at by the NFL as a Nolan Cromwell type safety. He plans to play QB. If he is good enough to become an NFL QB then OSU will have a very good chance of winning their first conference title since the Cowboys shared the title with OU and Nebraska in 1976.

As the slogan says, today was a "great day to be a Cowboy."

More from Dallas soon as the Sooners invade tomorrow and the Horns on Wednesday...don't want the teams in the same county.
