OKLAHOMA CITY -- Two teens, ages 14 and 15, faced first-degree murder charges in the death of a man who died after two people burglarized his northwest Oklahoma City apartment.

Police believed 14-year-old Jayquon Barnett and 15-year-old Treyvoughn Shomo broke down the door to Lester Wallace's apartment at Pine Ridge Condominiums the night of Sept. 18. Police said they punched and kicked him, then left.

Officers took Wallace's burglary report before he went to the hospital with what were thought to be non-life threatening injuries.

However, Wallace died the next day from those injuries. The Medical Examiner said the 49-year-old man sustained blunt force trauma and ruled his death a homicide.

Tuesday afternoon, Shomo voluntarily arrived at police headquarters for questioning. At the end of the interview, police arrested him.

Officers arrested Barnett Wednesday morning at his home in northwest Oklahoma City. Both teens faced first-degree murder and burglary charges.
