HOBART, Oklahoma – If you've ever wanted to see pumpkins launched up to 1,000 feet, the Pumpkin' Chunkin' contest is the perfect place to head this weekend. To get in the Fall spirit, Hobart is holding their 3rd Annual Pumpkin Palooza that includes a high flying pumpkin contest.
The Pumpkin Palooza kicks off Saturday, October 2 on the Kiowa County Courthouse Square in downtown Hobart around noon.
The day starts with a pumpkin painting contest, pumpkin bake-off and other fun, family activities.
The Pumpkin' Chuckin' contest will be held at the Hobart Regional Airport along Highway 83 at 4 p.m.
Chuckers can win up to $5,000, with prizes also awarded for pumpkin target shooting, longest launch and catapult.
End the day with the hangar dance at the airport featuring live music.
