OKLAHOMA CITY -- Police have released the name of a wheelchair-bound woman hit and killed by a car Friday morning.
An SUV struck Linda Gibbs while she was crossing N.E. 23rd Street near Martin Luther King Blvd.
The driver stopped and will not face any charges.
Gibbs was one of two people struck at that intersection Friday.
Another woman, 61-year-old Cheryl Bingham, died from her injuries Tuesday morning. The driver in that case has been arrested.
Oklahoma City Councilman Skip Kelley wants to do something about it. He said both pedestrians and drivers need to be better educated about respecting crosswalks.
"This is one intersection that people sometimes kind of use it as a speedway," the city councilman said.
Kelley said one possible solution would be extra signs.
