McLoud Man Arrested In Connection With Toddler's Death

SHAWNEE, Oklahoma -- A McLoud man faced a first-degree murder charge in connection with the death of a 3-year-old boy.

Jason Cline, 25, is accused of killing his girlfriend's son. Cody Paul Chama was rushed to OU Medical Center on October 5. He died the next day.

Deputies arrested Cline Tuesday night. He was booked into Pottawatomie County jail on a first-degree murder complaint.

The medical examiner has not officially ruled on a cause of death for Cody Paul, but Pottawatomie County District Attorney Richard Smothermon said the boy had massive brain injuries.

"With those injuries, there was no chance of survival," Smothermon said.
