OKLAHOMA CITY -- Republican incumbent Rep. Frank Lucas will retain his seat in the U.S. House District 3 after defeating his Democratic challenger Frankie Robbins.

Lucas will be serving his ninth term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

A former state representative from Cheyenne, the 50-year-old Lucas is a farmer and rancher who was first elected to Congress in 1994. He is currently the ranking Republican on the House Agriculture Committee.

Lucas also served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 1988 until 1994.

The 3rd District stretches from the Oklahoma Panhandle and far northwestern Oklahoma to the northern fringes of Oklahoma City in central Oklahoma. The district includes more than 34,000 square miles.
