Oklahoma City Man Escapes Overnight House Fire

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Fire crews were called to a house fire near S.W. 44th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue just after midnight.

The homeowner told investigators he had started a fire in his fireplace, and about an hour later his smoke detector went off. Investigators think the chimney caught on fire which then spread to the garage.

No one was hurt. Damage totaled about $25,000.
