Oklahoma Election Board Secretary Reappointed

State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax has been selected for a two-year term to a dual post that includes being secretary of the Senate.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax has been selected for a two-year term to a dual post that includes being secretary of the Senate.

Senate President Pro Tem-Designate Brian Bingman announced the appointment on Friday. Ziriax will be formally elected by the entire Senate in January.

As election board secretary, Ziriax is the state's chief election official. As secretary of the Senate he serves as custodian of official Senate records, directs the Senate's floor staff, and provides parliamentary guidance to the presiding officer.

Ziriax has served in the dual-post since January 2009.
