OKLAHOMA CITY -- The deer rifle hunting season opens Saturday across the state. The season will run for 16 days, through Sunday, December 5.
There are more than 250,000 hunters in Oklahoma, and most will hunt deer. It's estimated that hunting has an $800 million impact every year on the state's economy.
Whitetail deer can be found in all 77 Oklahoma counties.
Last year, more than 116,000 deer were harvested.
