OKLAHOMA CITY – A pilot who died last week in a plane crash near Wiley Post Airport has been officially identified by the office of the chief medical examiner.

Using dental records, the M.E.'s office positively identified the pilot as 55-year-old John Hugon from Fort Worth, Texas.

National Transportation Safety Board officials said the plane crashed after landing vertically several feet in soft mud near Lake Overholser Wednesday night.

Last week, officials with BancFirst said the plane was likely piloted by a member of their Board of Directors who they identified as Hugon.

A memorial service was held for Hugon in Duncan, Okla. Monday and a funeral was held in Fort Worth Tuesday.

The cause and manner of Hugon's death are still pending.
