OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City Police Department officers are still investigating an armed robbery which happened in the early morning hours at a south side restaurant.

Officers on the scene of the Denny's at Interstate 240 and S. Pennsylvania said that three employees were held up at gunpoint by a masked assailant who made off with a substantial sum of money. The exact amount it unknown. The assailant escaped the scene in a white or silver SUV, possibly a Chevy Trailblazer. The suspect's vehicle reportedly had some type of flag on the driver's side door.

It is unclear if the robber acted alone.

Prior to the robbery there was one man sitting at the counter speaking on a cell phone. He asked the employee serving him to go to the back and turn down the radio. The employee returned only to find two other co-workers being held at gunpoint by a masked assailant. The robber was already in the safe and then made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

At this time police do not know if the customer on the cell phone is connected with the robbery.

No one was injured in the robbery.

Police are reviewing surveillance video of the incident. At this time they do not have a physical description of the robber.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact police.
