OKLAHOMA CITY -- More than 50 people were evacuated at an Oklahoma City hotel after a fire broke out Thursday night.
Firefighters were called to the Regency Hotel at I-40 and Meridian Avenue at about 6 p.m.
Fire investigators say it all started when a man inside a room lit a match while using oxygen. One witness said he ran out when he heard glass shattering.
"The next thing you know I smelled smoke and I just ran out of there. I saw that big ball of fire and then I knew it wasn't somebody dropping a lamp," said witness Michael Jones.
The man who started the fire is expected to be okay. No one else was hurt.
It is unclear how much the hotel was damaged.
