NOBLE, Oklahoma – The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has confirmed that the cause of death of a Noble girl who was found dead a year ago has been changed from suicide to unknown drug overdose.

In March, the M.E. ruled 11-year-old Stephanie Wilcoxson killed herself in December via acute methadone intoxication. A recent report from the M.E.'s office states that suicide is no longer the ruled cause.

The girl's body was found at her mother's home in Noble shortly before Christmas 2009. Investigators with the OSBI said they believed the child had been dead for several days, and that her mother had to have known it.

Stephanie was buried in Blanchard, next to her father.

No charges have been filed in connection with Stephanie's death.
