OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma's Own News 9 and One Hour Air Conditioning and Heating have given a generous mom a warm and merry Christmas.
Crystal Britton was chosen as winner of the Heating Hearts for the Holidays campaign. The project provides new heating systems for deserving families.
Britton's 19-year-old daughter, Andrea, nominated her mom because of her big heart and determination to help her community.
"We've adopted seniors to get Christmas presents for, and we are active in Toys for Tots, and we love to volunteer. We always volunteer for the Red Andrews Christmas dinner. And we're Salvation Army bell ringers," Andrea Britton said.
The Britton family has been using duct tape to keep their old heater running. Heating expert Deryk Ruth installed a new furnace in the family's home so they won't have to suffer through another winter.
"I think more businesses need to be like that and do things like that for the community," Crystal Britton said.
