OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City Police are still trying to convince a man barricaded inside a hotel room to surrender, more than 12 hours after a standoff began.
The standoff started just after midnight Wednesday when officers went to The Clarion Hotel at N.W. 63rd Street and Robinson. They were searching for a fugitive from Cleveland County, but it turned out that suspect was already back in jail.
Before police realized the suspect was behind bars, they knocked on a hotel room door. The man inside threatened officers, refused to come out and barricaded himself inside the room.
Police said there may or be one or two other people in the room with him. They're also worried he may have a weapon. Police believe they know the man's identity, but they have not released his name.
Police took one person into custody just before 8 a.m., but it is not known if this person is connected to the standoff.
