OKLAHOMA CITY -- There are several new faces in the Oklahoma Legislature this year, and they are getting a crash course in our State's legal history and process.
The Oklahoma Bar Association held their biennial Law School for legislators Wednesday. Members from the state's highest courts spoke to the new lawmakers about the civil and criminal process and used examples to explain the role the state legislative branch plays in the everyday lives of the people they serve.
"We've invited the new legislators to come and get information and use us as a resource to help them do their jobs, which affects our jobs every day as attorneys," said Oklahoma Bar Association President Deborah Reheard.
There were about 15 new legislators who attended Wednesday's legal primer.
