EDMOND, Oklahoma -- Edmond Police confiscated more than 8 pounds of marijuana after a routine traffic stop Sunday.
A police officer stated he pulled over a vehicle with an expired license tag and noticed a "distinct odor of green or unburned marijuana" coming from the vehicle.
The officer asked the driver, Byron Jenkins, 28, to get out of the vehicle and then proceeded to search him. The officer found $263.00 in Jenkins' pocket.
The officer then told Byron he was going to search his vehicle to find the source of the "marijuana odor." Jenkins then stated, "I'm not gonna lie," and admitted to there being marijuana in the back seat of the car in a backpack. Officers located the backpack and discovered more than 8 pounds of marijuana in the bag.
