OKLAHOMA CITY -- Campaign finance reports show Republican Gov. Mary Fallin and her Democratic opponent Jari Askins raised more than $8 million in their race to become Oklahoma's governor.

Reports filed with the state Ethics Commission show Askins raised about $4,000 more than Fallin during the campaign. Askins raised a total of $4,133,386, while Fallin raised $4,129,404.

The recent reports filed this week cover the period from Oct. 19 to Dec. 31. During that time, Fallin outraised Askins by nearly $125,000. Fallin reported raising more than $330,000, while Askins raised $206,000.

Askins loaned herself more than $1.1 million during the campaign, but none of that came during the final quarter.

Fallin won the Nov. 2 election with more than 60 percent of the vote.
