OKLAHOMA CITY – Although temperatures finally rose above freezing Saturday, melting away some of the week's snow and ice, more snow is headed to Oklahoma Sunday and in the coming week.

Up to three inches of snow is expected in the lower third of the state late Saturday and early Sunday. The metro could get some very light snowfall with the possibility of two inches of snow falling south of Norman.

With the slightly warmer temperatures, the winter precipitation could consist of some sleet or freezing rain before transitioning to snow. Daytime temperatures should remain in the 30s.

Monday will bring clear skies with temperatures above freezing, giving Oklahomans a break before a more significant storm moves in.

The next storm system is expected to move in by early afternoon Tuesday with snow accumulating across the state through Wednesday afternoon. Winds will increase to 15-30 mph with higher gusts. Snow totals could exceed six inches in parts of Oklahomans causing another round of travel problems and hazardous road conditions.
