Fuel Leak Causes Traffic Tie-Ups In Del City

DEL CITY, Oklahoma -- A wreck at Reno and Sunnylane in Del City caused a fuel leak during rush hour Monday morning.

Del City police said a jeep slammed into the side of a tanker truck around 7 a.m. No one was hurt, but the jeep punctured the tanker's fuel tank.  Between 50 and 80 gallons of fuel spilled onto the road.

Hazmat crews were called in to clean up the fuel and prevent it from running into the drains.  The intersection was closed for several hours and reopened at 2 p.m.
