Large Grassfire Burns Over 30 Acres In Canadian County

OKARCHE, Oklahoma – Fire crews battled a large grassfire west of Piedmont in Canadian County late Wednesday afternoon.

The fire burned along Memorial and Richland roads, charring over 30 acres. No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported. Crews were able to get the fire under control.

It is unclear what started the fire. Canadian County is not under a burn ban.

Warm temperature and high winds have caused 15 Oklahoma counties to implement a burn ban including Oklahoma, Cleveland and Lincoln counties.
