Inola Woman Killed In One-Car Accident

An Inola woman died in a one-vehicle accident in rural Rogers County Wednesday afternoon.

ROGERS COUNTY -- An Inola woman died in a one-vehicle accident in rural Rogers County Wednesday afternoon.

Kathleen Thompson, 45, died of massive injuries in the rollover crash which occurred about 4:10 p.m. on county road NS417 according to investigating officer Jon Ysbrand of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Thompson's vehicle, a 1998 Ford F-150 was southbound on NS417 at a high rate of speed when it departed the roadway to the right, overcorrected and departed the roadway to the left, struck a culvert and then departed the roadway to the right where it rolled one-half time pinning Thompson inside. Thompson was trapped approximately 20 minutes before being extricated by the Tiawah Fire Department.

Ysbrand reported that Thompson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
