4 Arrested After Enid Authorities Find Improvised Explosives, Drugs In Home

Information gathered during a traffic stop led to the arrest of four people after authorities founds drugs and improvised explosive devices in the home.

ENID, Oklahoma --  Information gathered during a traffic stop led to the arrest of four people after authorities founds drugs and improvised explosive devices in the home.

At about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, an Enid police officer conducted a stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. Barber gained information from that traffic stop indicating that the occupants of a home in the 1000 block of E. Maple were involved in the illegal possession and distribution of controlled dangerous substances.

Narcotics detectives and SWAT team gained a search warrant for the home. Authorities found five adults and an eight-year-old child when they entered the home. The front entrance to the residence had been fortified in an attempt to delay law enforcement from entering.

During the search of the residence, detectives found approximately 10 grams of Methamphetamine packaged in individual bags for resale. Detectives also located scales and packaging materials used in the distribution of illegal narcotics along with a working scanner monitoring police frequencies and an active security monitoring system. Detectives also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia on two of the occupants of the residence.

While searching the residence, officers located what appeared to be an improvised explosive device. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol Bomb Squad and Enid Fire Department were notified and neighbors were advised of the situation.

When the bomb squad arrived, they located a second I.E.D. and removed the devices and rendered both safe. Bomb technicians said the devices were in fact improvised explosives stated that there was a lot of work put into making them. Detectives located more materials and components used in making these I.E.D. devices.

Matthew Ray Davis was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled and dangerous substance with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana in the presence of a minor child, possession of a scanner in the commission of a felony, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of an improvised explosive device.

Charlene Davis was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled and dangerous substance with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana in the presence of a minor child, possession of a scanner in the commission of a felony, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of an improvised explosive device.

Candice A. Stengle was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana in the presence of a minor child and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Walter Lee Black was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana in the presence of a minor child and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The eight-year-old child was placed into the Department of Human Service's custody.

This investigation is still ongoing.
