Councilman Brian Walters Loses Election, 2 Others Re-Elected

Oklahoma City residents voted out the lone city council member who voted against MAPS 3 and re-elected two others March 1.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City residents voted out the lone city council member who voted against MAPS 3.

Brian Walters lost his re-election bid to challenger David Greenwell by over 400 votes. Greenwell, a certified public accountant, said he hopes to bring accountability to the MAPS 3 projects.

Two members of Oklahoma City's City Council have been re-elected while the last ward will have a runoff election.

Charlie Swinton and Ed Shadid in Ward 2 will face-off in a runoff election on April 5.

Meg Salyer was re-elected in Ward 6 with over 60 percent of the vote over Jessica Holstein and Adrian Van Manen. Patrick Ryan was re-elected in Ward 8 by 72 percent of the vote over Cliff Hearron.
