After El Reno police began investigating an attempted kidnapping after a mother reported someone tried to kidnap her child after school, two people came forward and said it was a prank.

EL RENO, Oklahoma – After El Reno police began investigating an attempted kidnapping after a mother reported someone tried to kidnap her child after school, two people came forward and said it was a prank.

Police said they were told the boy was leaving Hillcrest Elementary School when two people asked if he wanted candy and would help look for their missing puppy. The two kids who approached the boy came forward and said they were just playing a prank on the elementary student.

No charges will be filed in the incident but the two kids may have to do community service.
