FOSTER, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office has ruled two 5-year-old boys and their father died of gunshot wounds before their house burned to the ground.

The body of David Ables and his twin boys, Wyatt and Dalton, were found Saturday, March 5, in Ables' burned out home in rural Foster, Oklahoma. Investigators said it appears Ables killed his sons, then himself.

Cherokee Ballard with the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office said the cause of death for David Ables was a rifle shot in the chin. His death has been ruled a suicide.

As for his twin boys, the cause of death is listed as gunshot wounds to the head. Their deaths have been ruled homicide. The Medical Examiner reported the boys died from the gunshot wounds before the fire started.
