NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The St. Patrick's Day celebration at O'Connell's Irish Pub in Norman lived up to expectations Thursday.

The new location of the popular pub was filled with a large crowd wearing green and drinking pint after pint of green beer.

With the streets crowded with people, two Norman High School students said they came to Campus Corner to collect donations for cancer research, saying it was the perfect day.

"Today is St. Patrick's Day, so we have a lot of people out. Everyone's in a very good mood, and I feel like it's a good day to ask for donations," said Trisha Arora, Norman High School Student.

But while people were partying at O'Connell's, workers at other businesses on Campus Corner could only watch the fun.

"Oh, it's pretty hard," said Sarah Fawfaw. She worked at Apothem across the street from O'Connell's. "I keep walking by and looking at the window."

But there is an end to the work day, and the party will continue through the evening-- plenty of time left to "go green."
