SHAWNEE, Oklahoma -- The family of an Oklahoma couple who was murdered in New Mexico in August 2010 has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the state of Arizona.

Gary and Linda Haas' bodies were found in their burned out camper. Two Arizona prison escapees are charged in the killing the Tecumseh couple with the help of Casslyn Welch.

The lawsuit names the company that manages the prison where Daniel McCluskey, Daniel Renwick and Tracy Allen Province escaped on July 30, 2010, the state of Arizona and the Arizona Department of Corrections.

The family's attorney said a lack of security at the prison run by Management & Training Corporation led to the escapes and ultimately the deaths of Gary and Linda Haas.

"What the family wants is that no other family has to endure the horrific tragedy like they have," said attorney Glendell Nix, with Nix Law Group, PLLC. "The wrongful deaths of Gary and Linda Haas were 100 percent preventable. MTC had total lack of security."

This lawsuit joins another wrongful death suit Gary Haas' mother filed last year. Vivian Haas is suing for $10 million.
