St. Patrick's Day Ends With Jail For Some Oklahomans

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The luck of the Irish deserted some people who decided to break drinking laws in Oklahoma County Thursday.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office reported March 17 through March 18 was very busy for law enforcement. According to numbers from the Oklahoma County Detention Center, dozens of people were booked into jail on St. Patrick's Day and the morning after. The offenses included:

  • DUIs – 23 arrests
  • Selling alcohol to minors – 5 arrests
  • Public drunk – 3 arrests
  • Open containers (alcohol beverage) – 2 arrests
