OKLAHOMA CITY -- Firefighters in Guymon battled a 12-mile-long fire that has been burning for several hours.
Texas County Emergency Management Director Harold Tyson said Tuesday there were no reports of injuries . Several evacuations took place as the fire moved farther east.
The American Red Cross of Central Oklahoma is assisting two families whose homes were affected by the fire, but it is unclear what damage was caused to their homes.
Tyson said it's one of the worst fires to hit the area in quite a while. He did not know the numbers of acres burned.
Tyson said firefighters from Beaver County have been brought in to help control it.
He said neighboring states of Texas and Kansas are battling their own fires and are unable to offer additional help.
