DUNCAN, Oklahoma – Several fire crews battled a large grassfire north of Duncan, near Marlow along Highway 81 Tuesday.
The fire in Stephens County spread almost two miles. By Tuesday evening, firefighters were working to control hot spots and flare ups.
It is unclear what started the fire or how many acres were burned. There were several homes in the vicinity of the fire and some homeowners could be seen watering their yards to prevent damage.
