NICOMA PARK, Oklahoma -- Nicoma Park police are trying to determine what happened to a suspect following a high-speed chase and crash early Thursday morning.

Police tried to pull over the driver just after 4 a.m. for an expired tag, but the driver refused to stop and took off, speeding north on N. Westminster Road near N.E. 30th Street.

Police chased the car until the driver lost control after running over some railroad tracks on E. Wilshire Blvd near Westminster. The vehicle rolled several times and crashed into some trees. Police rushed to the car, but could not find the suspect.

Nicoma Park called in police officers from Oklahoma City, Spencer, Jones, and Luther, as well as Oklahoma County deputies, to help search for the suspect. They also had an ambulance and paramedics standing by to treat any injuries.

A few hours later, police still had not found the suspect. Officers say there's a chance the driver was either ejected from the vehicle, or was able to escape the wrecked car and run away.

Police have determined the car was stolen out of Pottawatomie County.
