OKLAHOMA CITY -- One person was killed and six others injured Sunday afternoon in a head-on collision in far southeast Oklahoma City.
Rescue units and ambulances from Oklahoma City and Norman were called out to the scene near S.E. 170th and Peebly Road shortly before 2 p.m. Rescue crews found three victims trapped in the wreckage of the two vehicles and one person had been killed.
A 60-year-old man, 14-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy were transported to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in critical condition.
Three other victims were transported to Norman Regional Hospital in fair or good condition.
Police said they're investigating if weather contributed to the crash.
"Obviously it's quite possible. We don't really know yet. We are still looking at the cause of the collision trying to determine which [car] was left of center," said Oklahoma City Police Lt. Nancy Rateliff.
Police said four people had to be cut from the vehicles.
The identities of the victims have not been released.
