I've followed OU football closely for over 45 years. Never has there been a better example of what's right...never a classier...more humble, unselfish, never a popular player. Never has an injury to a player been more heartbreaking to so many football fans. Why do bad things happen to good people, like Sam?

Here’s one man’s opinion to questions that are bound to be discussed around the Monday morning water cooler:

1. Is Sam coming back THIS season? He'd love to. I can't see it?.season would almost be over...then there's the risk of re-injury that wasn't there" the last time.

2. Is he coming back NEXT season? Love to see it...but there was second-guessing this time?and there's no such thing as third-guessing.

3. Should he have come back? I wouldn't...but I respect the decision. And don't blame the head coach. The Bradfords tell me Stoops and the doctors were straight up from the start.

4. What's next: Good chance of surgery, but NFL scouts tell me they still expect him to go no lower in the draft than 10-15.

NOTE: The following report hit the wire Sunday night via ESPN writer Tim Griffin: Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford had an MRI and an X-ray that revealed “no new injury,” only an “aggravation” of the previous shoulder sprain, a source told ESPM’s Joe Schad on Sunday night. The source also said a course of action for treatment will be determined in the “coming days.”
