It's gameday morning. I'm headed over to Lawrence soon. We're staying at the team's usual KC-area hotel they use for Big 12 Championship games. It's in Overland Park.
I still don't have a great feel for how this one will go today (OU vs KU). I think the defense will play very well again. They seem entirely agitated by what Dezmon Briscoe and the Jayhawks did to them a year ago. This is a special Sooners defense and I get the feeling they're eager to prove what they did to Colt McCoy and the Longhorns wasn't a fluke. Kansas has scored at least 30 points in eight straight games. That won't happen today.
On the other hand, I have no idea what to expect out of the OU offense. If Demarco Murray doesn't play they are really void of playmakers. I'm just not sure how many points you can expect this hobbled offensive line and confidence-lacking receivers to put up.
So I think if OU scores a touchdown on defense or special teams...they win. If not, the Jayhawks may fly away with the Sooners 4th loss. It should be interesting. I'll blog again later tonight with the view from the sidelines. Enjoy the game everybody.
