The high school playoffs begin Friday and it's time for some Gold Ball predictions. These will be your champions in 2009.

Class C - Easiest call. Nobody has beaten Shattuck since the Eisenhower administration and it won't happen this year.

Class B - Ryan. Five shutouts this season.

Class A - Hennessey. The Eagles haven't been challenged since Week One.

Class 2A - Davis. The Wolves unbeaten and dominant.

Class 3A - Clinton. I never pick against the Red Tornadoes in the playoffs (even if they did lose three regular season games).

Class 4A - Weatherford. It's been a magical year for the Eagles. It's only right that it end with a title.

Class 5A - Shawnee. Brayle does what Tucker couldn't.

Class 6A - Union. I want to pick a west-side team but I logically can't. Karma will get Jenks and Union wins the Gold Ball.
