I was honored to be asked to speak to my 11-year-old's basketball team last night after practice. The coach asked me to share a few inspirational words. So I gathered the young lads around and preached the importance of effort, heart and hard work. I encouraged them to bring their lunch pails every day. And I said, "boys, if you work really, really hard and win every single game...maybe you can finish 2nd or 3rd....just like TCU or Boise or Cincinnati.

On behalf of the United States of America I would just like to apologize to the Horned Frogs, Broncos and Bearcats for the college football system they have to play under here in the land of the free....where if you do all you can do, it's still not good enough. A system where men in brightly colored jackets control the marionette strings like Geppetto.

Enjoy the consoloation bowls TCU, Cincy and Boise. Or should I say...have fun sitting at the kids table this holiday season.
