Who has the most to gain or lose this NFL post-season? Without a doubt it's my boy Peyton Manning. With a Super Bowl victory he stakes his claim as the greatest quarterback in the history of the game. With a loss, he becomes a choker who continuously underachieves in the playoffs. There's quite a canyon between those two labels.
Forget all the yards and all the records and all the regular season wins. Players like Peyton are remembered for what they did or didn't do in the playoffs. Montana, Bradshaw, Brady, Elway...they finished the deal. Fair or not, Marino will always be considered a notch below.
In my opinion, with a 2nd Super Bowl title Peyton takes his place as the #1 QB to ever play the position. But if he falls short...he'll be closer to living in Marino's neighborhood.
No pressure Peyton, but your legacy is on the line.
