Baseball has always had the best All-Star Game. College Football has the best regular season. The NFL has the best championship game. College basketball has the best playoffs. And the NBA has the most entertaining in-arena product.
But, baseball has always and WILL ALWAYS have the best All-Star Game. I was locked-in Tuesday night watching the National League finally beak the American Leagues stranglehold on the Midsummer Classic.
Number One...I love the fact that home field in the World Series hinges on the winner. I may be in the minority, but I think thats genious. And Number Two...pitchers are actually trying to get hitters out. Hitters are actually trying to get hits. And managers are actually trying to win the game. How many times did we see a player pump thier fist in this years game after a big strikeout or RBI.
This is no bold statement. Football and basketballs all-star games have always been inferior, but the point was driven home again Tuesday night. Baseball has many problems, but its All-Star Game is NOT one of them.
